Enrich products held in Plytix
Use case

Enrich products held in Plytix

Pull products from Plytix, fill missing attributes and copy from datasheets and manufacturer pages, and send finished records back without the spreadsheet round trip.

Try it on your own data
Enrich products held in Plytix

Plytix gives smaller teams a capable PIM, but the content work often still happens in spreadsheets around it. SKULaunch pulls products from Plytix, fills the empty attributes and copy from real sources, and sends the completed records back, so Plytix holds finished data rather than placeholders.

The problem

With Plytix in place, the structure is there but the enrichment is manual. Someone exports products to a spreadsheet, researches specs, writes descriptions and imports the result back. Every round trip risks overwriting good data, and the team that bought a PIM to escape spreadsheets ends up living in them again.

Before and after

An illustrative example from a homewares range in Plytix.

Before: the export spreadsheet

640 products exported from Plytix. Material, dimensions and care instructions empty on most. Descriptions copied from the supplier. Re-import planned for "when it is done".

After: enriched in SKULaunch

  • Material, dimensions and care instructions filled from supplier files and manufacturer pages
  • Descriptions rewritten in your tone from the verified attributes
  • Reviewed and approved in bulk
  • Records returned to Plytix without spreadsheet round trips

How it works in SKULaunch

  1. Pull from Plytix. Import products and their attributes into SKULaunch.
  2. Enrich in bulk. Fill attributes and generate content across whole categories.
  3. Review. Check enriched values and copy before approval.
  4. Return to Plytix. Send the completed records back to Plytix.

Where Plytix ends and enrichment begins

Plytix is good at organising products, assets and channel feeds. What it does not do on its own is go and find the missing data. Pairing it with an enrichment layer means the team keeps the PIM they know, and the slow part of the job, research and writing, happens in a tool built for bulk work.

What changes

The spreadsheet round trip disappears, and Plytix ends up holding complete, consistent records.

Common questions

Do we need to change our Plytix set-up?

No. Products are pulled with their existing attributes and mapped to your SKULaunch model.

Can we enrich one category at a time?

Yes. Work category by category so each batch can be checked by someone who knows the products.

What about images?

Images can be sourced and linked in SKULaunch, then sent back with the record.
